Volunteer
Our ability to reach more and more children is entirely dependent on our professional team and our volunteers. And there is so much to do within Childline! If you have a skill or passion that you believe would be useful to us – whether it be marketing, teaching, painting or the organization of a fund raising event – please get in touch with us. We believe that people should do what they do best and do what they enjoy.Individual volunteers
Individuals who want to volunteer receive an intake interview and proper coaching.
To maintain our high standards, we do have some requirements for volunteering:
• Minimum age is 18 years
• 5 Day training programme (applicable for crisis line volunteers)
• Minimum of 8 hours volunteering per month
• Commitment for at least 1 year
Corporate Volunteering
As part of corporate social investment programmes, many organisations have helped Childline by allowing their employees to volunteer their time towards a particular activity, whether it be painting a safe house or planting a vegetable garden. Join one of our Childline tours which allows you to experience first hand all that Childline does and in so doing, you could tailor a corporate event for your own organisation.
If your company would like to get involved in this form of volunteerism, please contact us.
Donate your used printer cartridges to Childline and Mzanzi will collect. You claim a tax break for the value of the donation.
Please donate second hand clothing, books, and bric a brac to Bounty Hunters and nominate Childline as your charity, or to Junkies and nominate the Sunlight Safe House as your charity. Both are in 4th Avenue, Melville.
