Wish List
Christmas & New Year Wish List 2011 – 2012- School stationery for Jan 2012 - one of our core needs (educational contribution) and in preparation of our 115 school goers i.e. Black pens, Blue Pens, Pencils, Sharpeners, Packet koki pens, Mathematics set, Calculator, Lever arch files, Blank file dividers, Flip files, Exam pads, Ruler, Eraser, Scissors, Pritt Glue, Coloured pencils, Crayons, Dictionary, A4 hard cover books, A5 hard cover books and Diaries.
- Volunteer mathematician for our grade 8 – 12 is in dire need of (115): 92 page hard cover A4 books, Maths sets, Casio Scientific Calculators
- Children’s books - Books that are encouraging, inspiring, motivational and written to make them see themselves positively. Books would need to range from ages 0 – 18 years. A fair average would be best suited for 3 – 10 years.
- Educational Toys
- Play therapy art equipment (for when they need to come into Childline for support & counselling sessions) - this helps support our children in our art therapy programme sessions who have survived abuse. These sessions will be developmental, educational or therapeutic in nature using art as a form of expression and a healing modality i.e. play dough, finger paint, craft paint, glitter, children’s scissors, glue, pipe cleaners, sticky tape, clay, felt tip pens, pastels, crayons, drawing pads and a variety of craft papers, especially brightly coloured paper pads.
- Play therapy toys: pick-up sticks, radio tape recorders, sandpit toys, assorted farm/zoo animals, 6 - 12 + piece puzzles, Children’s tables and chairs, Play room mats dinosaurs of different sizes, miniature figurines including super heroes and current characters, dress up clothes, jewellery, wigs, fairy wings, 7 sets of storage bins or drawers, toy telephones in sets of 2, toy vehicles, baby dolls with nappies, feeding bottle and clothes, play kitchen utensils e.g. tea sets, pots and pans. Plastic crockery and cutlery, and toys specifically designed to encourage boys to participate in the therapeutic process i.e. punching bag (x 12), skate boards.
- New clothing (0 – 18) in dire need of 2 – 12 years.
- Shoes for both boys and girls, in dire need of 11 to 18 years.
- Extra and always in need (on going): Nappies (0 – 24 months), Baby Formula, Basic Toiletries such as Roll-on, Toothbrushes, Body-lotion, Feminine Hygiene products, Pyjamas, especially underwear, Soap. .
