Every child's story deserves a happy ending....

WHAT CHILDREN CALL US ABOUT

Our specially trained volunteer counsellors gave in-depth counselling to more than 4,083 children and young people between April 2004 and March 2005. We keep confidential written records of children's calls, enabling us to analyse the kinds of problems they contact Childline about and put together the table below.

In addition to these children who need in-depth counselling, many more require fairly straightforward help and information from Childline. There were over one million such calls this year. Written records of these brief calls are not made, so they are not included in the table.
