VOLUNTEERING

Childline relies on our dedicated, trained volunteers for the wonderful work they do in our call centre and in the community.

We are in urgent need of:

• Volunteers for our Counselling Centre

• Safe House Volunteers (warm hearted people who are prepared to take an abused child into their home for a temporary period, in cases where the child has to be urgently removed from an abusive home environment after-hours).

Please note that if you would like to volunteer your services to help abused children,  we only need volunteers who can speak Zulu, Sotho, Xhosa etc not English  on the  Crisisline

Become a CHILDLINE VOLUNTEER on our education and prevention project in schools:

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR VOLUNTEERS:

• Undergraduate degree in social work, psychology, or education.
• Experience in working with children
• Counselling skills training
• Availability in the mornings during school terms (approx 6 mornings per month)
• 1 year commitment

Core Duty:

Class by class school talks for primary school learners (programmes are approved by GDE)
Content Training will be offered from the 3rd - 13th of April 2006
