Every child's story deserves a happy ending....

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Domestic violence is aggression or violence that happens in the home when a grown up attacks or threatens another adult in the family.

Domestic violence can happen in any family and in all kinds of homes. In half of the cases of violence between adults, children get hurt too. Even when children do not see the violence happening, they often hear it. In nine out of ten cases, children are in the same or next room when the violence is going on. This can be extremely distressing and disturbing for them.

Sometimes you can sort out a problem on your own. But if you have a worry you can't cope with, don't bottle it up.

It can really help if you talk to someone in your family, a carer, one of your friends or maybe a teacher. And you can call our helpline on 08000 55555 at any time.
